I ran a best of 13.10 @ 106, 1.90 60' last year in October. I picked up a slightly used Vig 3200 and I am hoping to go 12.75 and quicker this year.
Questions for CPT:
First off I assume that I need to have the PCM recalibrated to Remove the shift firmness, correct?
Secondly I need to add a "Shift kit" and I understand that you do not recommend Trans Go, but I read you don't use off the shelf shift kits?
What do you recommend when I go to install my converter?
Thanks,

OK, well I was looking over your post and you have a decent setup...
But I don't see anything in there that increases your shift firmness for you unless it's in your current tune, so there should be no reason to have it programmed to remove it. And if so, I would ask MAD Z28 how they tuned the shift firmness, if it increased line pressure then it might be an issue depending on the level it is set at.
I will let Frank answer this further though.
Good luck on the 12's I hovvered at 13.1 for a year or more myself before finally getting into the 12's... _________________ John Pszenyczniak

| Yep, MADZ28 tune in the PCM for shift firmness. I am not sure what he changed but I should be able to get an answer pretty easily. I am just trying to avoid any problems when I go to install my new/used converter. |

Converters normally cause you to "feel" that the shift has gotten softer so I don't think it matters. the problem will come in when you attempt to do a shift kit... _________________ John Pszenyczniak

Is it possible to just leave the PCM calibration as is and install the converter to see how it "Feels"? _________________ 97' Trans Am, 3.73, Headers, 1.6 RR, Suspension

I am sure he is busy. I don't mind, I'm not in a hurry to get this done right now. I am going to try and run a 12.99 this spring the way the car sits now. I was so close last fall (13.10 @ 106), I think a little bit cooler weather and a good track can net me the number that people told me was not probable without the converter.
The best is going to be when I run within a few thenths of my buddies who both did H/C last year. Too bad for them they are M6's. _________________ 97' Trans Am, 3.73, Headers, 1.6 RR, Suspension
