How We Met

When Marie moved to Pennsylvania she started working for the same company as Blair (the best man). They became good friends after a few months and when football season started, Blair invited Marie to hang out with his group of friends who were all Philadelphia Eagles Fans. The first game was held at another friends house though and John just briefly stopped by. He saw Marie from across the room and thought she was cute when Blair introduced them, but John didn't stay long enough to even take his sunglasses off, so Marie didn't really get a chance to see him at all.

The next week was back at Blair's apartment where football Sunday was normally held. A few people arrived early to play a game of football and grab something to eat down the road prior to the games starting on TV. At the restaurant Blair told John that Marie liked cars and was interested in what modifications John had done to his. John didn't really believe that any chick would be interested in that (as many had asked about it and then had their eyes glaze over as John explained). So John just sort of blew it off but offered to let her ride back to Blair's in his car after lunch. They got along well the rest of the day and had fun together.

The next weekend, Marie had offered to bring the food and knocked on Blair's door with two cases of beer. John was already there and opened the door for her. What guy wouldn't be all about a chick at the door with two cases of beer? Marie had made ribs for dinner (one of John's favorites) and upon tasting Marie's recipe exclaimed to the group "And she's a great cook too! I am going to marry this girl!"

The next week John asked Marie out, and their first date was that Thursday. About a year later John asked her to marry him, she said yes, and now he gets to have ribs whenever he wants...if she will ever make them again!

Oh, and Marie finally learned about the modifications to John's car and hears about them on a daily basis. Now she thinks back to that day at the restaurant and as her eyes glaze over she wishes she had never asked :o)
